Non Profit Startup seeks a motivated professional to assist in grant research and writing.

Major Responsibilities:
• Perform prospect research on foundations, corporations, organizations, and individuals to evaluate leads for grants.
• Support the CEO in working behind-the-scenes to facilitate relationship-building between senior leadership and key funders.
• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, write, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate, organizational and individual sources.
• Develop a deep and nuanced understanding of institutional history and programs.
• Collaborate with CEO and COO to craft effective and persuasive narratives for grant submissions and fundraising materials.
• Maintain and closely follow a calendar of grant opportunities and deadlines, submitting assignments in a timely fashion.
• Work with COO to gather program and financial information necessary to report to funders on current grant programs.
• Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
• Make appointments for CEO with foundation officers and other prospects, arrange for site visits for supporters (foundation officers, foundation trustees, individual donors).
• Maintain current grant records in a database and digital cloud, including grant tracking and reporting.
• Work with COO to provide development input for all written institutional materials (including Annual Report).
• Assist with other fundraising and administrative projects as requested.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write clear, grammatically correct, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
• Strong editing skills.
• Close attention to detail.
• Punctuality and responsiveness, especially with regard to communications.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Able to work well in a team environment and juggle multiple assignments.


• Bachelors’ Degree preferred
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
